Long fights
Amumu is a tank — build sustained damage and keep hitting; burst won't do it.
Ward the jungle
You out-trade Amumu; the only danger is their jungler — ward before pressing.

Save your dash for CC
Don't dash in — keep it to escape Amumu's crowd control.
Respect the spike
Amumu gets far more dangerous with the ultimate — dial back after level 5.
